Gohar, a Mahomedan male, about 50 years old, was admitted in the Main Dispensary, Saugor, 011 the 26th August, 1SS3, with a hard cancerous ulcer?about the size of a closed fist?on the epigastric region He was very weak and cachectic, with excruciating pain in the stomach, increasing each time after taking a meal ; the surrounding tissues of the abdominal wall were very much hardened and indurated ; the discharge was thin, scanty and ichorous?often mixed with blood, and emitting a pungent and nauseating smell.
